FAQs

Got questions? Let's see if we can answer them here...

And if we don't, please get in touch and we'll tell you what you need to know.

Timings

There are many factors that affect how quickly a cabin can be delivered (set design or bespoke for one), we’ll try to give you a more accurate time frame when you order depending on what is ahead of you in the queue. As a rule of thumb, allow a lead time of around
12-16 weeks.

Wheels

Your cabin will come on a chassis unless specified otherwise. Most customers in the UK building under the Caravan Act/BS3632 prefer to site their units using the chassis (with wheels) however units can also be supplied without, if being craned into position. Export units with special requirements will be discussed in detail during the design process.

Deliver & site

Delivery and siting prices are available on request, based on geography and site conditions. We can supply you with a turn-key price that will include transport, siting, skirting even external decking or we can point you in the right direction for transport and siting companies if you would prefer. You may already have preferred haulage and siting contacts in which case you are welcome to collect your unit from the factory. If in doubt, we can organise that for you.

Cladding options

The units have been designed and styled with larch cladding to give a rugged, wild look in a natural or painted finish. We do however accept that cladding choice can be very personal, largely driven by taste, but perhaps more significantly, budget. With that in mind we can also offer Thermowood, charred larch, cedar, oak, painted softwood, Canexel, Kaycan as well as numerous composite products coming into the market.

Utilities

All plumbing (bathrooms, kitchen etc) and electrics will be pre-fitted into the lodge to conform with current British Standards.

Price

All prices are available upon enquiry.

Design changes

Where it's practical, structurally and logistically viable, changes can be made. Some of our cabins and lodges have been designed around transport challenges and leisure industry regulations, therefore total, structural redesign will not always be possible or cost effective.

External cladding, UPVC or aluminium windows, roof finish, colour schemes etc are simple to address. However, our micro lodges don’t always offer the scope to reconfigure, as the spaces have already been carefully considered for efficiency. But we’d love to hear your ideas, or some unique challenges that you wish to overcome. We will then work together and see what we can come up with. For bespoke projects please get in contact to discuss.

Warranty

Units built to BS3632 will be covered by the Platinum 10-year warranty. Guarantees vary on roofs with up to 40 years on Metro, Britmet, Decra Tiles as well as some sheet metal roofing, plus various guarantees on UPVC windows, doors and glazing, cladding and internal fittings. We’ll confirm this once your units have been designed and specified.

Foundations

Foundations must be designed and engineered to carry the appropriate loadings for your cabin and to conform with relevant regulations e.g. NCC and BS3632.

Heating

Our cabins are typically heated with an LPG combi boiler for heating, with radiators throughout, although systems may vary depending on each product, personal preference or site requirements. We can offer gas, oil, electric, underfloor or ceiling heating and are happy to discuss what you need.

Ex Works

This refers to the price of the building as it leaves the factory, ready to be delivered but with no delivery or siting costs. These additional costs can vary dramatically depending on geography, mileage and the complexity of the site itself (site access, space to offload, final location of the unit on site etc).
